Why are you excited to be a BBU Ambassador?

I'm excited to be apart of such an uplifting movement where women lift one another up in a healthy way. I love being able to share how God feels about each and every one of us being fearfully and wonderfully made.

Why is it important for you to encourage women in their beauty/ personal struggles with beauty and insecurities?

I know I've struggled a lot with my appearance, being Hispanic and black, I didn't feel like I fit in with anyone or any one group. My skin color is different, my hair curls in a different way, and those are the features that stood out the most when I was growing up. I didn't know that all of my differences were unique and being unique is beautiful. God does not want us to look alike, He wants us to celebrate our differences. He formed us in our mother’s womb! I want to be able to encourage other beautiful Black, biracial and Latina girls to feel beautiful in their own skin and be confident in standing in God's Word. Being beautiful isn't just an outer appearance, it stems from an area of confidence and strong foundations in Christ.

Favorite Bible verse: For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16

Why are you excited to be a BBU Ambassador?

I’m excited to be an ambassador to use my personal style, relationship with Jesus and my influence on social media to inspire other women to seek after finding their worth in Jesus, expanding their wardrobe to share with others their personal style and helping them to use their influence on social media to inspire their friends.

Why is it important for you to encourage women in their beauty/ personal struggles with beauty and insecurities?

It’s important for me to encourage women in their beauty and worth because I want women to know that they are enough and they are loved the way they were divinely created. This is important to me because I personally have struggled with not feeling enough and have struggles with trying to be perfect for validation from other people. Whether that was through performing in sports and school, trying to lose weight, wearing a ton of makeup or even looking at others and trying to be more like then instead of me. Because I have felt like this I am passionate about other girls knowing their worth so they have peace that they are loved perfectly and unconditionally.

Favorite Bible verse: So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19

Why are you excited to be a BBU Ambassador?

I am excited to speak towards young women and encourage them to become comfortable in their own uniquely beautiful bodies.

Why is it important for you to encourage women in their beauty/ personal struggles with beauty and insecurities?

I have always struggled with comparing myself to other woman and feeling as if I don’t measure up because I don’t look exactly like them (which I feel comes from social media in our generation). But I have been working on my perception and found love for my body the way it is because it’s uniquely beautiful, just as everyone else’s. It’s important for me to be encouraging in this area because all women should strive to find beauty in their insecurities.

Favorite Bible verse: The Lord has made everything for its own purpose. Proverbs 16:4

Why are you excited to be a BBU Ambassador?

I am excited to be a BBU ambassador because of what BBU stands for. I am excited to be able to use my social media platforms to encourage other women and remind them that they are individually unique, beautiful and worthy. I want to remind them that there is no one way to dress or express yourself rather their personality, what they want to say to the world, and their unique preferences come together to reveal their own personal style that they feel comfortable and confident in. My mom used to tell my sister and I growing up that we were beautiful inside and out. Now that I am older I really appreciated that she taught us this lesson at a young age. Beauty isn't defined by the make up you way or how tall your heels are, beauty is defined by your character and your love for one another. Jesus makes us beautiful both inside and out.

Why is it important for you to encourage women in their beauty/ personal struggles with beauty and insecurities?

When I think about why I am so passionate about encouraging other women though their beauty struggles and insecurities my mind always lands on an oh too common phrase that I heard a lot throughout my years in Greek Life. That phrase was 'I hate myself' and always came out of a friends mouth in a sarcastic tone usually when retelling an embarrassing situation that happened earlier that day. I was also known to say this phrase so often that at one point I started to believe it. I hated who I was, what my body looked like, and most of all what I did to be noticed. Here's the thing about beauty that I learned the hard way. Beauty doesn't fit in a box or in certain body shape. It doesn't have a specific personality, hair color or eye color. Beauty is raw. Beauty is deep. Beauty is selfless and full of grace. I want to encourage women to see the beauty that God sees in them everyday. I don't want women to just know they are worthy. I want them to understand that they are worthy and feel the love the Lord has for them. I want the women around me to be able to say "I love who I am" and mean it.

Favorite Bible verse: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Why are you excited to be a BBU Ambassador?

I love to be inspired by other people’s personal style so I hope that being involved does the same for other people!

Why is it important for you to encourage women in their beauty/ personal struggles with beauty and insecurities?

In today’s culture we are pressured to fit into a mold and to look the same when we are all SO different. I want to be able to encourage people to embrace what makes them unique!

Favorite Bible verse: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17

Why are you excited to be a BBU Ambassador?

I'm excited to be a BBU ambassador because it's a great program to help girls my age feel more confident about who they are as one of God's daughters.

Why is it important for you to encourage women in their beauty/ personal struggles with beauty and insecurities?

It’s important to me to encourage girls because it’s so easy to believe the lies society tells us about how to be “perfect”. I’ve struggled with insecurities and confidence issues all my life. I’ve always been the tallest girl in the room, and it’s one of my biggest insecurities. I still struggle with so many insecurities on a daily basis, but when we support and encourage each other we can become more confident together. Being able to encourage girls through BBU, is my chance to help girls believe that they are beautiful inside and out.

Favorite Bible verse: ‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.’ Jeremiah 29:11-12
